JAKARTA (JP): The government-backed National Labor Export and Protection Agency (BNP2TKI) has been under fire and demanded for a serious evaluation since after 100 days on, the agency established in March, 2007, has indicated to make no significant progress, besides facing lawsuits from labor exporters and going in disharmony with the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.
Labor exporters have repeatedly questioned the progress BNP2TKI has achieved in implementing its 100-day program to establish labor database in regions, ensure a rapid, cheap and secure procedure in labor export procedure and provide legal protection for migrant workers overseas, saying no changes have been completely made to repair the current chaotic mechanism.
