Musliha Sawat suffered serious injuries on the neck and abdomen in the 8pm incident.
Kubang Pasu police chief Superintendent Sawaludin Hamenudin said the Indonesian maid was arrested when police arrived after being alerted to the attack.
"The victim was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital by her neighbour."
Sawaludin said the victim was watching television with her four children, while her husband, Mohd Sofee Mohamad, 33, was working in Johor when she was attacked.
