SEREMBAN: In a surprising turn of events, the 25-year-old Indonesian maid who was allegedly abused by her female employer in Bandar Baru Nilai last week has withdrawn her report against the alleged abuser.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said the maid withdrew her report against the 33-year-old woman on Monday and the alleged abuser, whom police detained on Sunday, had been released.

"However, we will continue our investigation and hand our report to the deputy public prosecutor. It is up to the DPP whether to charge the alleged abuser," said Saiful Azly.

The New Straits Times had reported that the maid had serious burns in her mouth, bruises to her face and was bleeding from her ears when she escaped from her employer's house and sought the help of a stranger.

A source from Seremban Hospital had said that the inside of the maid's mouth and throat was badly burnt.
Saiful Azly had said that the employer sent the maid to her mother's house in Batang Benar, Selangor, to do some housework on Thursday morning.

He said that when the maid returned home later that day, the woman allegedly accused her of being lazy and not performing her duties properly.

The woman then allegedly used a lighted candle to burn the maid's mouth and forced her to drink boiling water though a straw.

It is learned that the employer has since met the maid, who is with her agent.
