The Foreign Ministry is in close contact with the International Red Cross as it tries to locate an Indonesian woman, who was working as maid in Gaza before going missing during the Israeli military campaign.
"We are keeping in contact with the International Red Cross to locate her," director for citizen protection and legal bureau head Teguh Wardoyo said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Teguh said the migrant worker, Umi Saadah, had worked for a Palestinian family for eight years.
The last information the ministry received about her was that she had been detained for questioning at a local police station in relation to her dispute with her employers.
She was detained not long before the Israeli military operation started on Dec. 27.
"The problem is, the police office no longer exist after the Israeli bombardment. And so there is no trace of her," he said, but speculated that Saadah might still be alive. (and)
