Hong Kong - An Indonesian maid began a 32-month jail sentence in Hong Kong Thursday for helping a man molest a 5-year-old girl in her care.
Sujianah, 33, accepted payments totalling about 1,100 Hong Kong dollars (140 US dollars) from the 19-year-old to let him assault her employer's daughter on four or five occasions.
A court was told the assaults took place in a room at a games centre where the man worked from March 2006 and July 2007.
Sujianah, who like many Indonesians uses only one name, appeared in court for sentencing Wednesday after pleading guilty to five charges of aiding indecent assault.
The 33-year-old admitted she had accepted 200 to 500 Hong Kong dollars each time from the man to allow him to take the girl into a locked room at the centre.
The crime came to light when the daughter told her father she had been undressed by a young man at the centre and he alerted the police.
A man was also arrested, but the charges against him were later dropped because of lack of evidence when the victim was unable to identify him.
